Nicole Meguiar: 1969-2019

Our hearts are broken at the passing of our cherished friend as Nicole Meguiar went to be with Jesus at the age of 49. Sometime on June 20, Nicole passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was found in her bed with her eyes closed and a peaceful smile on her face, with no evidence of pain or trauma. That is all that is known at the time of this writing about the details of her passing. She is survived by three amazing boys (AJ, Jordan and Elijah) that she loved so dearly–please keep them in your prayers and support them however you may feel led. Her parents, Barry and Karen Meguiar, and sister Michelle Shoemaker and her family are devastated, but they know that Nicole is safe in the arms of Jesus, with no more pain or suffering—knowing they will someday be reunited in heaven, which is the greatest comfort of all.

Those that knew her felt her genuine passion, care, and love for them, and for others. Her infectious smile and laughter brought joy to so many. She was a fixture in the car hobby, but it was the relationships that mattered most to her–the cars were just a means to connect to people and their hearts. Nicole was honest about her challenges, which opened the door for others to be honest about theirs, creating a path for true relationship. So many felt genuinely connected to Nicole, because she truly cared about each and every person, and loved them to the best of her ability.

That care and love stemmed from her relationship with Jesus Christ, who was (and is) her foundation. Her love for the Lord was extraordinary. Her knowledge of scripture rivaled that of most pastors. She prayed diligently for many of you, and carried many of your burdens alongside you, petitioning them to the Lord. The Lord would talk to Nicole–many of you can vouch for this, as she would have just the right word for you in your time of need (or victory!). And man did she love her worship music! If she was in charge of an event or setting, there was sure to be worship music playing (usually as loud as others would tolerate)—unashamedly bringing joy, peace, and hope about her Savior to those within earshot.

Nicole was so gifted—one of the smartest people you will have ever encountered. God gave her a unique combination of business skill, love for the car hobby, and heart for people that enabled her to found and produce the Benedict Castle Concours as a benefit for Teen Challenge. Many of you have come alongside her in this venture by serving on the committee, bringing a car to the show, sponsoring the show, attending the show, or by praying for its success. She didn’t produce the Concours to put the spotlight on herself (which, frankly, she didn’t enjoy, but did it faithfully and skillfully knowing it was part of her “job”), but to benefit Teen Challenge, partnering with them to free lives of substance abuse and point them to a relationship with Jesus. The picture below is a group shot of some of the Teen Challenge students at this year’s show. Just last week Nicole had printed a large version of this picture to frame for her house as a reminder of who she was doing the show for.

A celebration of this beautiful woman’s life is scheduled for Thursday, June 27 at 10am at the Benedict Castle in Riverside, the same location that she produced her famous show. What a perfect location to honor her! The service is open to the public. Please join us to comfort each other and celebrate her life. The address is: 5445 Chicago Ave. Riverside, CA 92507

To continue Nicole’s love to use cars to bring people together, we have a limited number of featured spots at the venue for those that want to bring your show car to display. To reserve a spot, please contact Gary and Kathy Garner at:

Knowing that many of you want to bless the Meguiar family in a tangible way, they have requested that in lieu of flowers, generous donations be sent to Teen Challenge ( to further the ministry that Nicole so cherished.

We hurt along with you. Know that you were loved by Nicole, and that the best thing you can do for her is to join her in heaven, through a relationship with Jesus, for an eternity of joy together.

You can watch Nicole’s celebration of life in the video below.
